3205.6—When may BLM issue a direct use lease to an applicant?

BLM will issue two types of geothermal leases:

(a) Geothermal leases (competitively issued under subpart or noncompetitively issued under subpart ) which may be used for any type of geothermal use, such as commercial generation of electricity or direct use of the resource.

(b) Direct use leases (issued under subpart ).
